Sarah’s Success Story

By December 5, 2019News

Imagine waking up after barely sleeping the night before, and helplessly watching addiction ruin your life. For me, that addiction was alcohol and it controlled every hour of my uncertain life.

While the days were difficult, the nights were the darkest. At times, the only “home” I had was a car, storage unit, or a friend’s couch. Without a safe place of my own, I never felt comfortable enough to let my guard down and sleep.

But things started to look brighter when I came to ShareHouse. For the first time, I had a warm bed, clean sheets and a comfortable pillow. To some this may seem insignificant, but to me it was a sign of support, a fresh start, and the confidence for a clean future. Now I’m learning how I can overcome my addiction and I am excited about the new path I’ve started.

Stories like Sarah’s are the foundation of our mission and illustrate the importance of our valued partners. Your past support is the reason we’ve been able to provide life-saving treatment when patients need it most. We’ve seen amazing changes occur during their recovery at ShareHouse.
During this season of giving, we ask for your continued partnership to help us purchase new, much needed residential beds for our rooms. Most patient beds are more than 7-years-old and are simply worn out due to the number of patients who have received our care.
A comfortable bed in a safe environment is something most of us take for granted. Yet for many residents, it’s more than a warm place to rest; it’s a new beginning. Such a simple thing makes a world of difference to those who need it most.
Please help us restore hope for our patients, as they heal from the disease of addiction. Every $325 donation helps provide a medical grade bed for our residential program, $50 provides clean bedding, and $10 provides a new pillow. Any dollar amount helps make our mission possible for patients like Sarah.
