Compassion Fatigue & Burnout

ShareHouse invites all healthcare professionals to a day of learning and networking! We are hosting a workshop that will focus on Compassion Fatigue and burnout- two issues that often affect individuals working in healthcare. Compassion Fatigue is a term that describes the physical, emotional, and spiritual impact of helping others- often through experiences of stress or trauma. Burnout often ties into compassion fatigue as it encompasses mental, physical, and emotional exhaustion.

This workshop training will be focused on learning how vicarious trauma and stress can impact the brain and body of individuals who are in a helping profession. Time will be spent on exploring these impacts, learning the definitions and symptoms of Secondary Traumatic Stress and Compassion Fatigue, and learning about assessments that can be used to determine the current level of STS or Compassion Fatigue. Then discussion and information will be shared on how to develop and encourage resiliency, create healthy coping strategies, and outline a prevention plan for professionals working closely with traumatized individuals.

The keynote speaker of our workshop will be Amber Morrighan, LMFT, MA, PACC. Morrighan is the owner of Healing Connections Therapy and Consulting LLC in St. Cloud, MN.  She is an experienced Mental Health Therapist, Clinical, and Program Supervisor with a demonstrated history of working in the individual and family services industry.

This informative workshop will be held at the Avalon Events Center in Fargo, ND on Thursday, April 25th. Registration will start at 8AM, with the workshop starting at 8:30AM and wrapping up at 4:30PM. It will cost $80 to attend and this includes lunch and snacks. Below is a list of our sponsors.
