Your donation to ShareHouse this Giving Hearts Day provides someone from our community who is struggling with addiction, the supportive services they need to find their path to a life in recovery.
Last year we helped 768 patients through our Residential treatment services. Many don’t think about what a person may fully need while they are a patient at a drug/alcohol treatment facility. We think of the need for great counselors, therapists, and a comfortable place to sleep. But what about during the down times? We strive for each patient to have a length of stay longer than 30 days and some can be up to 6 months in our Recovery Living Program. Sober activities are an important part of the recovery journey. Our ShareHouse Sober Fun Fund provides activities to our patients that are in a sober and safe environment. These activities have included going to the movies, Thunder Road, bowling, yoga, and making vision boards. This fund is used to restock our Arts and Crafts room and purchase games for our Video Gaming room. During the warmer months, patients have access to an assortment of lawn games, basketball courts, and patient flower beds. Having activities to focus on has been proven to lengthen their stay, increasing a patient’s chance of successfully completing their program.
Your gift will help someone have that little extra something that helps them during the process of becoming sober. A puzzle or board game may seem like a simple item, but to our patients, they can be so much more.
Please give the gift of sober fun this Giving Hearts Day. You can help make recovery possible!
